Load rating by material

Insight: a ~3 kg adhesive tray and a ~50 kg steel shelf are both sold as “organizers.” The gap between them is 16×. Matching the rating to the job is the entire decision.
Estimate your actual load
- Toiletries / cosmetics: under ~2 kg — plastic or adhesive is fine.
- Pantry jars / cookware: 5–20 kg — needs steel.
- Books / tools: 20 kg+ — carbon steel, no exceptions.
Rule: estimate the loaded weight, then buy the next rating up. Headroom is what stops sagging over time.
